It appears you have 1/2 water line. Measure the outside dimension of the copper and it is probably 1/2. As an apparent novice DIYer it will probably be easier for you to remove the copper line entirely and replace with a braided stainless steel dishwasher water line that is available at any plumbing store. You will get this done. Good luck.
